Pixilation & Distortion
For the Pixelation pieces, I have always thought that light fixtures are such an interesting subject matter to photograph and so I thought that it could be an interesting thing to add pixels too. After playing around with the sizing of the pixels I decided it would be best to keep them on the smaller sizes, but still be able for the viewer to see the pixelations. For the Distortion Pieces, I was driven to follow my inner compass of items with great significance to my existence. Each of these objects are something that has represented a big part of my life and moments that I have experienced. From one of the many hospital bracelets I have from someone who has an immune deficiency disorder and the flower from my high school graduation, the lucky frog my grandmother would always carry around, the captain pins I received from being captain of the varsity basketball team and finally the bottle of medicine that helps me everyday with my mental health. When it came to distorting them I wanted to make the object not entirely recognizable, but something you could maybe see as that specific object without it actually being that exact object. 6720
